Quick and Temporary Fixes

I am hoping you have read the story of Jacob and Esau in the Bible. Esau sold his birthright to Jacob in exchange for stew because he was hungry. His hungry move wasn't good! Don’t settle just for satisfying your hunger and end up missing the mark.

The story is in Genesis 25; 29
29 Once when Jacob was cooking some stew, Esau came in from the open country, famished.
30 He said to Jacob, “Quick, let me have some of that red stew! I’m famished!”
31 Jacob replied, “First sell me your birthright.”
32 “Look, I am about to die,” Esau said.“What good is the birthright to me?”
33 But Jacob said, “Swear to me first.” So he swore an oath to him, selling his birthright to Jacob.
34 Then Jacob gave Esau some bread and some lentil stew. He ate and drank, and then got up and left. So Esau despised his birthright.

One of my fave preachers said never make a major decision based on a temporary situation, Esau did exactly that. Don't draw conclusions about your life just because somethings are not working. So many relationships and marriages are being teared down into pieces because people run into making permanent decisions based on a temporary situation.

You know those moments in life when the heat is on. There are something’s that we do when the heat is on and we later on regret because of the consequences. In any kind of situation that you find yourself in you either respond to God or the wrong side, there is no middle ground. Watch out for what you say, what you think, what you do, whom you choose to stick to when the heat is on. Don't drift from the main thing so that you satisfy your current need. Never let what you are wanting get in the way of the right thing.

You know bending the truth, settling and compromising so that your situation wins. Watch out for the 'quickies' you have in life just because you want convenience. Remember we are not here to have a good time; we are not here for convenience but to have a good time while doing the right thing. Doing the right thing must always come before having a good time.

Before you make that quick fix always examine yourself from a biblical perspective not from what you are feeling and seeing, you might miss the mark but with the Word of God you can't.
The last thing you don't want is having life's pleasure and eternal pressure. Our feelings and flesh will always somehow try to justify the situation when we know it is wrong. Look at the devil tempting Jesus, he was trying to show him that you need this and the truth is Jesus was hungry after fasting for 40 days, He needed food but He did not give in.

My Bishop Dag Heward Mills said this: It’s easy to drift from the main thing. But the main thing will always be the main thing! Satan loves to push Christians onto roads that are close and parallel to the real road. He urges us on into good things which are not God's will. Through this demonic guidance, there is a lot of Christian activity but much of God's purpose is set aside. Boy! Watch out, you don’t want to do many activities which seem good but they are contrary to Gods will.

We often gravitate toward what is safe, not necessarily what is right. Please take note nothing can take the place of doing the right.  Don't settle for just being happy settle for being right, being right will bring blessings and happiness.

Blessed Weekend.

The Integrity In God's Word

The word of God makes us whole and simplifies life’s complexities Psalm 19:7-11 The law of the Lord is perfect, restoring the [whole] person; the testimony of the Lord is sure, making wise the simple.

God is bound by His word. God goes by what He says in His word, not your feelings, emotions or anything else but His word. God used His word to create us and all the creatures. To end a lot of confusion in our lives we just have to agree with the word. Understanding the word makes our path clear.

God's Word warns us of danger and directs us to hidden treasure. Otherwise how will we find our way? Or know when we play the fool? Without the word we can’t know when we are right or wrong. Psalm 119:105 Your word is like a lamp that guides my steps, a light that shows the path I should take.

Our own thinking and feelings feel right at sometimes but we can always remember whatever it is, if it's not in line with the word of God we need to change. The word will never change.
Whatever we are doing if it is not matching with God’s word then it means we are glorifying other things and not God.

Let God find you standing on the word. It is the only thing that does not return to God void. Your feelings and what you are seeing have no returns.  (Isaiah 55:11 so shall My word be that goes forth out of My mouth: it shall not return to Me void [without producing any effect, useless], but it shall accomplish that which I please and purpose, and it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.)

Sooo many people are doing ‘good things but they are not in agreement with His word. ’Satan loves to push Christians onto roads that are close and parallel to the real road. He urges us on into good things which are not God's will.

Fix your mind on the word. See what God commanded us to do. Philippians 4:8 Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.

Anything that raises itself against Gods integrity, whatever it is or whoever it is should be brought down. 2 Corinthians 10: 5......... and we tear down every proud idea that raises itself against the knowledge of God. We also capture every thought and make it give up and obey Christ

Being Spiritual

2 Corinthians 3:17 Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.   You must be more conscious of the inner man than the outer man because the real you is the man inside, the spirit; not the body that we see. The Holy Spirit is the only Person who knows the actual mind of God concerning you. He is like a search engine, searching the database of heaven to reveal the will and plan of God for you.

Every man has a spirit, a soul and a body. The soul and spirit live inside the body. Without understanding you are a spirit you will only focus on your body. Our Spirit makes actually our body alive. Death means separation of the spirit and the body.  (James 2:26 For just as the body without the spirit is dead, so also faith without works is dead) The spirit of a man does not die, it lives forever.

Being spiritual means being controlled on the inside by God.
It means you don’t depend in your ability and talent or what you have or look like but you are fully depending on God and be led by the spirit
It means your inner man is developed

Some of us pay much attention to the body and we forget the most important part which is the spirit.
It is very important to work on your inner man. God lives inside you
God is a spirit and He speaks to us from spirit to spirit not our flesh.
If you operate on the flesh it is very hard to hear from God and you can’t have a fellowship with Him.

When you get born again it is the spirit that is changed.
John 3: 3 Jesus replied, “Very truly I tell you, no one can see the kingdom of God unless they are born again. 4 “How can someone be born when they are old?” Nicodemus asked. “Surely they cannot enter a second time into their mother’s womb to be born!” 5 Jesus answered, “Very truly I tell you, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless they are born of water and the Spirit. 6 Flesh gives birth to flesh, but the Spirit[b] gives birth to spirit. 7 You should not be surprised at my saying, ‘You[c] must be born again.’ 8 The wind blows wherever it pleases. You hear its sound, but you cannot tell where it comes from or where it is going. So it is with everyone born of the Spirit.”

God is a spirit, the only way you can relate to Him and worship Him is by being spiritual.
John 4:23-24 Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in the Spirit and in truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks. 24 God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in the Spirit and in truth.Whether you lived for Jesus or not determines where your spirit goes, either hell or heaven because the spirit lives forever.

Simple Truths

The power of forgiving, God won’t forgive you if you haven't forgiven others. Luke 6:37 “Do not judge, and you will not be judged. Do not condemn, and you will not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven

The power of a smile and laughter (Proverbs 17:22 A cheerful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones.)

The power of not being a people pleaser. Always yearn for Gods approval because, man can approve you but what about God? You may have successfully justified yourself before man but God knows the real you.

The power of the blood of Jesus.. Only the blood of Jesus can cleanse our Sin, our good deeds can’t even stand the power in the blood. You can’t depend on your good deeds but you can absolutely depend on the perfect work of the blood.

The power in praising and giving thanks (God dwells in the Praises of His people)

The Power in letting what has happened to be and embracing what is. Like it is said we can’t change the past, you won’t even find God trying to give you a better past so why live in it!

The power in worship, you will always come out refreshed. Worship is our responsibility  To worship means you know and understand what He Has given you is far much greater than what you can give. Worship puts you in a place where it is all about Him and not you.

The power in the presence of God, something happens in the Presence of GOD that does not happen anywhere else.

The power in doing the right thing, really nothing can take the place of obedience, no talent, no money, no confession, no sacrifice, no heartbreak; God expects us to be obedient.

The power in understand the truth. The only evidence of knowledge of the truth is that you are free. John 8:32 “Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”

The power of Love… faith goes together with love. You have faith with no love. Christianity is based on Love. John 3:16 “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life”

The power of having good friendship. For you to get there, you must have good relationships and friendship. Take a look and David and Jonathan. Proverbs 18:24”One who has unreliable friends soon comes to ruin, but there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother”

The power of hard times…! Yeah you read that right… God uses hard times to make us… God does not give theories but rather a tough situation. God will not use money to make you better but rather a tough time to make your character.

The power of sticking to something or someone. You may not get there until you are fully committed and patient. Don't give up easily

The power of being consistent and being good in your area.
Be consistent in what you do out of being consistent and being at something over and over you always become the best you become irreplaceable.

God Of Wonders

You don't question why trees, flowers, or animals exist. Why do you question if God does? He created all. Things did not just occur. He owns your next second of Life. The universe is a great declaration of His Majesty. No words, no theory, nothing can explain how Great God Is.

Psalm 150
Praise the Lord!
Praise God in his Temple!
Praise him in heaven, his strong fortress!
Praise him for the great things he does!
Praise him for all his greatness!
Praise him with trumpets and horns!
Praise him with harps and lyres!
Praise him with tambourines and dancing!
Praise him with stringed instruments and flutes!
Praise him with loud cymbals!
Praise him with crashing cymbals!
Everything that breathes, praise the Lord!

Who taught the sun where to stand in the morning
Who told the ocean you an only come this far?
Who showed the moon where to hide 'til evening
Whose words alone can catch a falling star?
Well I know my Redeemer lives
I know my Redeemer lives
All of creation testify
This life within me cries

Look around, you will see God in everything.

Our God is an awesome God
He reigns from heaven above
With wisdom, power, and love
Our God is an awesome God

Look around and you will see divine wisdom, greatness of God that we can't understand.

Questioning if God is real is foolish. (Psalm 14 Only fools say in their hearts, "There is no God")

Look around, you will see God in everything.

Psalm 117:1-2 Praise God, everybody!
Applaud God, all people!
His love has taken over our lives;
God’s faithful ways are eternal.
Hallelujah!
